OK so today we had a big progress.... we started making our props. as mention, we cut out cardboard that we are going to use to build the shelves. we brought everything up to the studio and start building it. as Tri gave us some comments on how we can join each side of the card boards together, we decided to try different methods of joining to see which joint can hold the cardboards up better.
The first method we did was to get a small piece of cardboard and stick it below the divider as a supporting. the second method which is something like the finger joint that we create a slot that we can slot the 2 piece of cardboard together. and there we see that the second method is better in a way that the out come looks better and it can hold the cardboard upright. Zaihan came along and told us other different methods we can use to hold the dividers for the shelves. as we were trouble by how we can cover the holes on the side of the cardboard, Zaihan gave us a roll of tapes that we can use to cover the holes. it acts like stamps whereby we just need to put a little bit of water on one side of the tape and then it will become sticky andwe can just stick onto it. no extra effort needed.

Next step is adding colour to the shelves. we were deciding to mix a colour that is similar to the orginal cardboard colours. but then was not easy. we wasted quite alot of paint before finalising the colours. and Germ was the one who tried to mix the colour but in the end the colour looks quite a bit off. hahaha... Okay before wasting more paint, we finalised the colour and started painting on it. and the out come looks like this!

We also tried taking pictures of the scenes and it looks great. with that i believe that everyone felt positive and more confidence added to make the stop motion turn successful.

So next week, we will be starting to build more props.
